Engineering Internship at Money Forward i
In September 2026 I spent ten days as an engineering intern at Money Forward i, on the AI Helpdesk in Admina, their IT management product. The helpdesk lives in chat tools and answers employees' IT questions. My work sat on the human side of it: the screens and backend that support staff use when a question is handed over to a person.
I opened 11 pull requests and 10 were merged. I added a response deadline to tickets, computed when it is read rather than stored, so no data migration was needed. I made the ticket board load faster by sending less data per row, and added trend views for the people running the helpdesk. About two thirds of the lines I wrote were tests. In my first code review, a reviewer caught a bug that would have taken the whole board down if one setting failed to load, and since then I read reviews much more carefully.
My last task was error alerting for the staging and production environments. The request was vague, so I read a week of real logs, separated the signal from the noise, and rebuilt the alert rules around error grouping instead of hand-written queries. I also gave a short talk to the team on stacked pull requests, and picked up the habit of making a new test fail on purpose before trusting it.
